Training on IFS conducted by KVK Anjaw.

One day training on Integrated Farming System was conducted at Nilang village on 1st December, 2016. All together 25 farmers including farm women and rural youths attended the training programme.

Khoisnam Naveen, Subject Matter Specialist (SMS, Agronomy)said Integrated Farming System (IFS) is an economically beneficial for farmers in order to enhance farm productivity and profitability at the same time reducing environmental degradation, improving the quality life of poor marginal and resource poor farmers while maintaining agricultural sustainability and providing employment opportunities for the farmers year round He further stressed on motivating farmers for adoption and integration various enterprises to elevate their income generation, integrating various agricultural enterprises such as cropping, livestock rearing, bee-keeping, fishery and forestry will lead to resource-saving practices that aim to achieve acceptable profits, while minimising the negative effects of intensive farming. Later on a demonstration on Drudgery reduction through maize sheller was also conducted.
